The best item from 2011 is that new tenants arrived for my barn. They have proven themselves to an enjoyable balance to all the years of work.

All the years of work without a holiday or vacation, except some “free days” during travel teaching suddenly took a toll. To realize that virtually since my time in the military, some 45 years ago, I have worked seven days a week. No more! I say. We all need balance. Make sure you take a Me day once in a while. It does a world of good! Take two!

I will be headed back to the Berlin Master School this year for a trip that is always pleasurable and professionally rewarding. Especially pleasing will be to watch new upcoming Masters (the applicants I had lectured in the past) challenge themselves to the rigorous battery of tests in this ancient, more then one thousand year old, professional painter tradition.
Master Daniel Lausch is, as always, kind and professional in preparing and managing my classes. I will be looking forward to interacting with wonderful, highly educated and dedicated colleagues.

Musings and miscellaneous thoughts

As many of you know I am reluctant to reveal myself and background publicly. I am a very private person by nature, but after 55 plus years of painting service and travel teaching, there just might be something to say. I view most aspects of my life as being very private with only my painting being somewhat public. When speaking I rather avoid talking of myself, unless someone inquires. However, that may change soon.

A friend, colleague and author who for some reason thinks my work worth publishing and, for some reason, my life interesting enough; is writing an anthology of the story of my journey. This, a curious process of the author collecting not only references to my many works but, more revealing, the answers to what appears at time a barrage of questions about my career, as well as some ups and downs of my life. I am curious as to how it all will finish; if I did say too much or too little; and some of you may too be curious. We will have to wait together.
