Teacher Certification

If you are at least somewhat aware of my background, you will appreciate what I look for and expect from a Faux Meister Teacher. It is little by comparison to the challenges I have faced and that you may encounter in the future. It is not an easy path and I may lay down some bread-crumbs to follow, but do not expect me to remove all the thorns.

If you pass any the involved tests, I will be at your side as a mentor. If you are certified a teacher, I will attest to the fact that you have proven worthy.

The certification program is essentially separate from any training program (classes, seminars, practicum), even those offered by The Faux Meister School and Faux Meister Teachers. If any of you think yourself qualified due to self-education or other formal and informal training, then you are most welcome to participate and submit to the tests.

And so, any of you who have already participated in the Fundamental and any Advanced Seminar (yes, those with the pretty Attendance Certificates) and if you have diligently practiced what you have learned, may be ready for Part 1, Part 2, even Part 3 of the tests.

Of course, I hope, you may benefit from at least some TFMS instructions.

Even now semi-retired, I will remain the principal teacher and judging agent of this program; this, until at least seven individuals are fully certified and then gradually take over the process.

The Tests.
You need to illustrate a good working knowledge in at least three distinctly different materials. Beyond that, the choice of product and tools is yours. Only results count.

.2 - 10”x15” boards of unique fantasy finishes.

.6 - 10”x15” boards using different materials for two of each, such as oil, acrylic, silicate, etc.

Level II, Advanced:

1 - faux wood intarsia table top, 36” square, as per your design

Level III, Faux Meister:

A small room, using a minimum of three faux finishes
Provide, copyrighted, ready to publish written instructions for the later
